At Hach®, we embrace the challenge of continuously improving wastewater monitoring equipment and processes, including plant protection and optimization, self monitoring, nutrient removal, aeration control, sludge management, and other plant operations.
Hach innovations and new applications can help you stay compliant and reduce operating costs with the confidence that your plant is running smoothly.
Through a live English webinar series we provide an overview of Hach's answers to the challenges of wastewater treatment plant operations from the collection system, right through the treatment process stream to the effluent discharge point.
For each webinar held, a recorded session will also be available.

The Introduction
How to Optimise Sludge Handling and Anaerobic Digestion Processes
In the context of the European Climate Pact, wastewater facilities must be resource efficient. Sludge management and biogas production are key drivers to reach net zero carbon emissions. Watch the recorded English webinar about sludge handling and anaerobic digestion. The key to process control is understanding what tools can be used where and how. Learn more about the analytical tools available for laboratory analysis and online monitoring to optimise these processes. By taking control over your analytical tests for the anaerobic digester, you can secure your process, save time and money.
Effluent Monitoring and Water Reuse
In the context of more and more stringent consents on key parameters and water scarcity leading to the emergence of water reuse projects: Monitoring of real time plant performance is increasingly crucial. During the session you will learn solutions to ensure continuous monitoring of discharge quality for increased peace of mind.
The Basic Parameters
Phosphorus treatment optimization
In the current context of increasing reagent costs and limited availability of these reagents because of the energy crisis, optimizing coagulant dosing for phosphorus removal is key.In addition to the above issue, discharge consents for nutrients, particularly phosphorus, are becoming increasingly stringent. Therefore, real-time monitoring of facilities is becoming more and more necessary. Our experts will present Hach's innovations to ensure compliance and reduce operating costs during an online webinar.
The performance of wastewater treatment facilities are highly dependent upon the quality and the variability of the influent supplied to the plant. Urban wastewater treatment plants (WWTP) with significant industrial loads as well as industrial WWTP, are at-risk of encountering high load variations and/or toxic events which can affect treatment. Solutions exist for early detection to help the operator manage these events for proactive and effective process adjustments, to ensure compliance. From essential electrochemical measurements to more advanced solutions such as total organic carbon on-line measurement or toxicity monitoring: which solution is suitable for your facility?
During this one hour webinar two main topics are covered. First, the monitoring of pollution in sewerage systems, ensuring monitoring is as close as possible to pollution sources, diagnosing hazardous or unexpected discharges, and quantifying the pollution risk of direct discharges to the environment in case of sewer overflows. Secondly, the monitoring of H2S in the liquid or gas phase to better assess corrosion risks, protect assets, prevent odor complaints and optimize chemical dosing when mitigation strategies are in place.
The eight part of the Serie covers: Auto-sampler technologies: Which solutions are available to collect samples?; Phosphorus, organics and nitrogen parameters: Overview of the key water parameters available for self-monitoring; Simplicity, reliability and safety: Benefits of cuvettes tests and finally, Compliance: COD and nitrogen cuvette tests compliant with ISO.
In the ninth episode you can discover the evidence supported by case studies, how measurements of ammonium, nitrate, nitrite or total nitrogen, combined with Hach's digital solutions, can optimize nitrogen treatment, regardless of the site configuration: These can include intermittent aeration, continuous aeration, simultaneous denitrification or pre or post denitrification ...
