Reliable online suspended solids measurement

Suspended solids instruments from Hach ® provide solutions for measuring solids and turbidity in standard drinking water, wastewater and industrial process applications. Instruments feature self-cleaning options and unique technology to improve the precision and accuracy of measurements as well as options for use within hazardous zones.

At the same time, laboratory methods and equipment can be successfully used to verify or fulfill the calibration of the process sensors.

Benefits of Hach’s suspended solids measurement solutions:

  • Improved Accuracy: Infrared light technique eliminates color interference, minimizes calibration and improves accuracy
  • Peace-of-mind: Instrument’s self-cleaning capability prevents erroneous values
  • High range: Measure suspended solids up to 500 g/L
  • Flexibility: Multiple mounting options for immersion or inline measurement.
  • Reduce cost: Coupled with Hach’s ® Real Time Control (RTC) software, a complete off-the-shelf system, to adjust treatment processes in real time, keeping your facility compliant while reducing treatment costs

The process waters used in power generation are very pure, so it can be assumed that almost all particles present are due to corrosion. Iron transport as iron oxides has been successfully monitored in real time by a surrogate technique using particle monitoring and turbidimetry instruments such, as Hach’s TU5400 turbidimeter.

When used in tandem with the DR3900 spectrophotometer’s colorimetric total iron lab procedure, a correlation between iron and the online turbidity measurements can be made. This surrogate method allows the operator to be alerted to spikes in iron concentration and make informed decisions in real-time.

NEW- Low Level of Detection Film Forming Amines

Hach's Film Forming Amines kit allows you to test ODA, OLA and OLDA based film forming amines products using Hach's DR3900 and DR6000 spectrophotometers. Film Forming Amines are expensive and overdosing can lead to more than just higher costs. Overdosing can lead to the difficulty of "gunk balls" in your system. Under dosing can lead to corrosion of your systems. Test for Film Forming Amines at lower concentrations with greater accuracy to ensure your steam cycle systems are adequately protected, costs are kept in check and overdosing risks are mitigated.
