Monitoring COVID-19 in Wastewater

Tuesday, February 23 at 9am MST

Summary:

Emerging public health research confirmed the ability to detect SARS-CoV-2 (the virus that causes COVID-19) through non-invasive wastewater surveillance system monitoring. Wastewater surveillance programs support individual testing strategies and provide data indicating the presence of COVID-19 to personnel responsible community health almost a week before physical symptoms occur.

With a changing landscape and new information coming out every day, water professionals are still left with significant questions like:

  • What does a surveillance system look like?
  • Can I do this myself?
  • How much does it cost?
  • Can I get same day results?
  • What do I do with the data?
  • What do I do with this equipment after COVID?

In this webinar, you will take away the answer to the above questions as well as what a successful wastewater surveillance program looks like and why it is important to be proactive regardless of whether it is required by the Health Department.
